Prologue: Getting Here

I am one of six writers in my family. From a young age I was introduced to the practice of writing stories and sharing them with family and friends and while I wasn’t good at it for a very long time, I loved it. One family member has self-published a book, another has printed copies of his book to pass out to friends and family, and the rest (myself included) have countless stories, poems, and scripts on our computers. I come from a family of creatives, whether it’s writing, acting, filming, music, or something completely different, my family strives for creativity, always.

Maybe it’s because of this that I began posting my fanfiction online this last year, maybe it’s the sheer need for someone else to like something I’ve done, I don’t know, but either way, I’ve decided to start putting myself out there more often. This blog is the first step to that for me. I want to leave a mark on the world, even if it’s just a tiny scratch in the corner where no one will ever notice, I’m going to leave something behind. I’d like for it to involve my passions as well as fill the need for my creativity and thus; The Library of Sarafina Eleanore is born!

My name is Sarafina.

I grew up in a family with eight kids in a small town in Indiana. I’m a hobby collector some might say- I’ve played soccer, softball, volleyball, piano, guitar, violin, video games, and board games, I’ve learned how to knit, crochet, embroider, paint, draw, write, and dance, I’ve given gardening, sewing, and YouTubing a shot, and out of all of those few have stuck.

I’m an introvert who cannot handle more than one social ‘event’ a day (yes work counts as a social event) and spends all of my time in my room. I’m a barista who prefers tea over coffee and a student one semester away from graduating with a Bachelor’s in English.

I value my chosen family over blood relations and hold transparency in the highest regard. I have very black and white thinking while also being somewhat morally gray.

My favorite book I’ve read recently is ‘The Martian Chronicles’ by Ray Bradbury and of all time is probably ‘Catching Fire’ by Suzanne Collins. Although I should say, if we were to include fanfiction into the mix, neither of these books would be my top choice.

I’m a writer.

Welcome to my library.
